Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble Gobble!

Give thanks with glad heart, dear reader, as Turkey Day is upon us!

A time of feasting, reflection and quite possibly flatulence, this holiday is one of plenty: a time to reflect on all the good we have in our lives.

Yes, life carries plenty of rain to go along with the sunshine but there’s just something about a holiday that pains itself to act as a beacon of positive self-reflection that’s just so endearing don’t you think?

Don’t get me wrong Thanksgiving can be stressful- the travel, the torturous cooking, the dizzying dance of company- but I’d like to think those moments spent laughing around the table with those you love are well worth the trouble.

Hell, even if you’re spending Thanksgiving by yourself simply taking a moment to pause, maybe pour yourself a little drinky-poo and think back on all you have to be thankful for this year…well, it’s a sobering exercise ironically enough.

So get out there and baste that turkey, tackle that uncle while playing football in the yard, or sit with the old timers and relive a tale or too.

Give thanks. Bask in life’s bounty. Go back for seconds.

I think this year of all years, we’ve earned it.
